The Homematic IP Rain Sensor detects beginning rain and even snow immediately via the integrated sensor area, ensuring e.g. that the awning is retracted.

RELIABLE AND PRECISE SENSOR
The large, sensitive sensor area detects even the smallest amounts of rain and snow. With the Homematic IP app, the user always has everything in sight. This allows you to react immediately to unexpected changes in the weather (e.g. to close windows or doors).

AWNING CONTROL
If it starts to rain, the information is immediately transferred to connected actuators. Thus, e.g. the awning can be retracted automatically in connection with a Homematic IP Shutter Actuator.

SECURE OPERATION AT ALL TEMPERATURES
The integrated sensor heating ensures immediate drying of the sensor area. This avoids functional limitations or false triggering commands caused by dew or ice. Thanks to the wide temperature range and waterproof housing, it can be used even under extreme conditions of -20 to +55 °C.
Due to the integrated sensor heating and operation via an external power supply unit*, the rain sensor requires very little maintenance.

ADAPTION TO MOUNTING LOCATION
The included mounting brackets (with and without tilt angle) allow for application in different positions, according to the individual installation conditions. Mounting at a 45-degree angle is recommended in order to achieve the full range of functions.

INDIVIDUAL TRIGGERING BEHAVIOUR
The triggering sensitivity can be defined individually via the app. Therefore, e.g. incorrect switching can be avoided."
